If you ever tried to use a XPage dialog control from the extension library on a mobile device. You’ll probably seen this behavior, the dialog is moving away each time you try to click on a button or a field in the dialog.
The trick to fix this is to force the dialog to a fixed location if you are on a mobile device with a small screen.
There are several ways to detect this:
check out this stackoverflow question how to detect iphone by CSS –>Link
You can use this xSnippet –> Link or this post by Keith Strickland –> Link
When you can detect this and depending on your approach place the following code in a stylesheet
or if you place it directly as a computed style on the dialog.
The following css properties is that makes the dialog to stop moving around.
top:100px !important;
left:100px !important;
This will force the dialog to be placed at position 100,100 on screen. !important is a css property that forces an override of other properties set.
So what I usually do to fix this is add the xSnippet in a SSJS Scriptlibrary and add the following code as a computed style property on the dialog
I got an idea about how to improve the calendar integration in traveler.
Unfortunatly the idea will only work for the Android version because I don’t think you can control the phone in IOS.
The idea is that you could control settings in the phone using the calendar, this isn’t anything new if we are talking about you office phone but on your mobile phone and the change is not done in the switch board.
What am I talking about then, in an Calendar appointment you setup a profile/Category i.e “quite meeting”
In your traveler client in the mobile phone you can specify your own profiles and you can get predefined profiles from the traveler server. when a meeting ocurr and you have a corresponding profile the settings for this profile apply to your phone i.e go to flightmode, Turn off ringtone, perhaps activate wifi.
Then you can control alot off cool stuff using your calendar. And the profile in the phone specifies what should happened when the meeting starts and what should happens when it ends.
I have installed iOS 5 on my devices at first I had some problems with a error 3200 in iTunes. But that was from that Apples servers was overloading with everybody upgrading.
Some suggestions before upgrading if you haven’t done this.
1. Remove any apps that you rarely use
2. Make sure that you have updated all apps in your device
3. Make a backup copy of all your photos and remove them from the device
4. Remove and videos and music that you can
All the above things is just so you upgrade goes as smooth as possible, If you have alot of data on your device the backup will be huge and take alot of time.
Also before you start upgrade, make sure that you have Itunes 10.5
Start the upgrade and don’t be scared it will do alot of reboots before it’s done.
Happy upgrading đ
One thing that similar between Apple and the Domino server is that upgrades is always that smooth.
If only the Notes Client install could be that smooth too.
